I earned my undergraduate degree of History at The College of Charleston. From there I have been teaching various subjects such as math, Algebra, Geometry, World Geography, U. S. History, Economics, Government. I have taught in many middle and high schools throughout SC and NC. During the last five years I have tutored part time while I taught. As a published author, I have extensive grammar skills due to the various publications I was fortunate enought to be part of. The ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills and team leadership: I meet this qualification in such that it was demonstrated while working with the Los Angeles County Probationary Department as well as working with the youth in my church. I would counsel approximately two students per week and meet with about twenty to thirty on a Thursday evening on a volunteer basis for the Los Angeles County Probation Department. I also had an assistance to work with me and we would work together as a team to help develop these young people lives. Of course, this consisted of me working beyond my normal work hours just to be able to reach that student who felt they were completely a “nobody”, for it was more important to meet the student need rather than my own personal need of just wanting to go home. The act of being able to speak one encouraging word to the student was more important to me.

As a Business Education teacher in the classroom, I also have experience with home based instruction for special education and working with at-risk middle school students in an after school program.
