Depending on the needs and skills of the students, I will adjust my teaching style. Hence, it can range from being very structured to the loose conversational interaction where I intersperse grammar as needed throughout the instruction. Also, I apply visual and oral methodology with highly interactive elements in all of my lessons, so that the students get exposed to as much real-life situations as possible in grappling with the language. As a college student, I wanted to help other struggling students as well as polish my own skills. I decided that tutoring students would be a great job to earn money and achieve some personal goals. In addition, I played college sports so my students were other athletes. I have tutored students in math, accounting, finance, English, and various other business classes.

What I have discovered about myself is that I learn differently from other people. I am the kind of person who prefers to set aside that assembly instruction manual and put together that Christmas toy by laying out the pieces in an orderly fashion. There is so much pleasure in problem solving. I learn by asking myself questions. I have little patience for mundane drills and memorization if they can be avoided. Each child is different.
