My comments on tutoring Elementary Vocabulary : In Home or Library only

I truly enjoy working one on one with students. I get to know each student and family so that I can work to meet the individual needs of each student. Then I address those individual needs through personalized lesson plans to teach to the strengths of the whole child. With older students this can also be accomplished ONLINE in selected subjects. I am compassionate, kind, and patient. Especially for the younger students I understand that games and fun activities are important to maintain interest as well as short spans of time on each activity. Intervention Specialist - Tutor Grades K-12

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from high school in 2005 and was 12th in my class. Out of high school, I worked as a pre-school teacher with children ages 1-8 years. I attended Ohio University Athens for Speech Therapy for four years and am now finishing my undergraduate degree online. Elementary Vocabulary is one of my top subjects!

My teaching style is different from most tutors. I like to tutor like a teacher. I give out study guides, quizzes, tests, checkpoints, and some small projects. I keep track of the students grade. I do not provide supplies. I require the student to have their coloring supplies, scissors, and other basic supplies. I let the parent have the say in what we learn about. I need to know what the child is learning about and what they need help with. I do need my clients to set up appointments in advanced so i may plan my schedule. I do specialize in Elementary students. I enjoy this age level of kids!

I have been working with the school system for several years. I am currently teaching a fourth/fifth grade split.
