I do not believe there is one teaching style for every child. Therefore, my teaching method will vary depending on the needs of the individual. One of the main reasons for this was because I didn’t have a Bachelor’s degree. I resolved this deficiency by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Phoenix in 2002 while maintaining a full time job and a 3.79 GPA. I believe everything needs to be broken down into pieces. It makes tackling larger problems a lot easier. First, I start with definitions/terminology. This is a necessity to begin learning other concepts with any subject. Second, any rules, equations, procedures or the "how to" come into play. The learn how to use the definitions or formulas they learned. Third, examples are necessary. Thought provoking ones which allow the students to follow a clear path of logic to understanding important concepts.

My teaching style might be a bit unorthodox but it is something I have acquired from past teachers and tutors. I have not helped or tutored in a while but I believe I have an easy and simple approach to it. When it comes to physics and chemistry, the math can be learned over night, the concepts are most critical. You can't read a problem and interpret the question word for word. You have to find a way to relate it to real life and what you see everyday. A spinning disk becomes a truck tire, a sound device becomes a sub woofer. Things that you can relate to.
