Hello, my name is Linden. I am an experienced System Analyst at a national laboratory with a PhD in Computer Systems Engineering and a Masters in Mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Upstate New York. Over the years I have enjoyed mentoring students in various math and science disciplines. Recently, I have translated this experience into providing excellent tutoring services for students in the area. My comments on tutoring Statistics : A's in my Statistics courses

I have been a tutor for this past school year at Saint Xavier University and tutored developmental Math. I have also tutored calculus, geometry, algebra, and trig while i have been attending my undergraduate degree.I have found that the best way to tutor a subject is to get to learn the students learning style and then using real life applications so that the student can get a better grasp of the material and it has worked well when i was at Saint Xavier.

Based on my degree which is BS in Finance and MS in Management Information Systems I have been able to touch so many learning experiences from this. The nature of my studies has helped me to gain more understanding in both the business aspect and sciences. It has also helped to improve my way of writing in presenting reports and research based work. In the past, I have tutored elementary candidate in Math, English and Sciences.
One of the most favorable things that I love to do is helping children to gain more understanding in their academics. I have worked with different children in the past, and I have helped so many of them to understand that they can be the best in whatever they set out to do. I am very patient, tolerant and can help your child improve and get the best experience in learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

In May 2010, I graduated from Bradley University earning two bachelor degrees, BS in Mathematics and BS in Economics, and I graduated in the top ten percent of my class, earning Summa Cum Laude. While in college, I had the opportunity to partake in our tutoring program that our university runs. Starting as a sophomore, I had the privilege to tutor students in college algebra, calculus, statistics, high school math, and economics. I was also asked to conduct walk-in math tutoring for athletes and non-athletes. On average, I worked with students for 10 hrs/wk. In 2007-2008, I received the Tutor of the Year Award from our Center of Learning Assistance. This award was given to the tutor that received the best evaluations from their tutees.
From my tutoring experience in college, I have learned that everyone has a different learning style. In order to be an excellent tutor, one needs to ... read more

I have a BS in journalism, and a specialization in advertising/integrated marketing communications. I also have minors in English and psychology. As a result of studying both journalism and English, I have an extensive background in writing. I have tutored ESL students to learn to read and write in English.
My teaching style involves demonstrating how to understand a problem or perform a task before I ask the student to do so. By facilitating students in such a way, I believe they have a more one-on-one learning experience, as opposed to a strict lecture setting. With guidance and demonstration, I believe it is easier for students to learn without pressure.

A Little Bit About Me...

At Covenant College, the education department stressed an education than viewed the learners and unique individuals, not objects to be filled with information. I have recently received a BA degree in Mathematics with a minor in Secondary Education (6th - 12th). Ever since I was in high school, I have had a passion that has allowed me to excel in the field of Mathematics. For the last two years I have tutored with the college ranging from general, college Algebra to advanced calculus and differential equations. I have also completed 14 weeks of student-teaching, with 7 weeks teaching 6th grade math, and 7 weeks teaching Algebra II and Statistics.
What I learned most about my teaching style from my student-teaching experience is that I love connecting with my students. Each student is unique, and their learning styles vary. The more time I spend with students (in the classroom ... read more

As an Electrical Engineer, I am very capable in all areas of Math and Science. I have tutored family memebers for many years in these subjects and have acted as an independent contractor for high schools in the area as well. I feel my approach to the subjects and personal disposition, make the subject matter easier to grasp. My college level courses gave me a deeper understanding of all math related topics, which makes it easier to convey these topics in understandable terms.
I love to see people grasping the simplest approach. I begin with an overview of what, exactly, is the goal and why we are doing it. I feel step by step methods, with easy to remember techniques, are best to achieving the final result. "Hands on" is definitely the approach, once the goal and methods have been established. Reiteration and practice help make problem solving achievable, and reasonably fun.

I have found an approach that have been effective in a classroom or group activities that has encouraged active participation in the learning process. A successful individual or a student learning experience grasps an understanding of any concept given, has the ability to apply them either at work or in a subject and develops a skill set to guide them in their path. Although I have not had teaching experience in a school environment, I have extensive experience on the job and great technical skills to provide opportunities to teach in a classroom.
Teaching and having one-on-one training, I have learned that each student learns in his or her own unique way. This takes patience, being creative and also to motivate either a student or an entire class. With my experience in operations management I have had the ability to share my experience as a leader and teach one-on-one on computers ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I used to volounteer to help my fellow students in sessions similar to tutor under supervision of the assistant professor (who holds a PhD degree in the subject). I was designated "dissector"; Those prepare for the "practical-lab." class for Anatomy. In Egyptian schools of medicine, they still use cadavers. Plastic models are gradually and partially taking over currently. Anyway, I was preferred because I use the "personal" language and the special aproach for each person.People around me call me the best "coach" because of my way of helping. I never give them a direct answer; Insetead, I give them either a "hint", a "reminder" or a "source" to find it out by themselves.
When it comes to starting a new subject, I start with questions to stimulate minds first. I start from the last step, example: How can we do elbow flexion? Then elbow joint constituents and their relation to each ... read more
