A Little Bit About Me...

I earned both my Masters' and Bachelors' degrees with honors from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. During my academic I learned to excel in everything I do, which help me master the accounting knowledge I have today. While at SIUC, I was also involved in many student organizations such as Beta Alpha Psi, Accounting Society, and NABA. I was the tutoring chair for Beta Alpha Psi for two years and have acquired very good teaching skills. The Director of the School of Accountancy will be a good reference when you need one.
My teaching style is sample: Bringing the topic to the student understanding level and be positive about it. I believe that students need to put in a little more effort without which they cannot achieve their learning goals. Because of my elementary background, it is safe to say I am a very patient person and I use that skill in my ability. I allow the children to create their own paths and when there are roadblocks we work together to find a solution. I am not in the habit of giving students the answers. I feel education is most effective when self discovery is involved and I want my students to feel that they are learning and achieving in every way possible. All students are capable of success; some just need more guidance than others.
My teaching experience has been primarily focused on elementary education, however I have tutored freshman in English and History.
