A Little Bit About Me...

Every kid is different in their own special way. You need different tactics per different kid. Being that I am patient and caring I know that it wouldn't take long for them to get comfortable with me and have me assist them. I believe that every good deed should be rewarded and if the student is doing well he shall be treated so, with a possible treat or even a pat on the back. I feel that if a child is told what they are doing right rather than what they are doing wrong they are more likely to have a positive outlook on what task they are trying to accomplish.
As a young college student I understand that my experience doesn't compare to those with degrees and much time doing it. During my time at Concordia College, I was a strong tutor and office manager for the Reading/Writing Center, helping with composition in both English and Spanish. My grammar and usage knowledge is quite extensive, and I love tutoring writing and composition. I've also done quite a lot of tutoring in the ESL environment, as well as tutoring elementary math and reading.
I see my job as that of facilitator: the student is there, the information is there, and the student is the learner.
