Whenever I can, I like to be very hands-on in my teaching my students. For example, once I was teaching my class about trees. I had them go outside and collect samples of bark which had fallen on the ground. Then we created a gigantic mural in my classroom and glued the pieces of bark to a tree we had drawn.
I have been a self-employed Tutor since April, 2006. Special needs and home schooled students are welcomed. Nothing makes me happier than when I see the smiles on the faces of my students when they succeed rather than fail. I assist all students in skill building and creating a life-long love of learning. Speaking is one of my top subjects! I have completed public speaking at the University of Florida with an A. I was the president and founder of a Toastmasters branch in South Florida. Toastmasters is a global organization that has weekly meetings to help people become better public speakers. I have given many presentations in many classes at UF and have always received compliments on my speaking. I am working my way to become a motivational speaker one day. Senior majoring in Psychology and Political Science at Auburn University. I attended a college prep high school in the top 10% of my class. I scored a 29 on the ACT and 1370 (without writing) on the SAT. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style would be best described as creative and improvisational. Because I work with students from such varied backgrounds, I believe that the best method is one that allows for flexibility and at the same time incorporates lessons from several fields at once. For example, in both my GED and ESOL courses I incorporate music into my lesson plans. I find that music is an excellent avenue to explore contemporary topics that can then lead to essay topics.
