Marine Biology is one of my top subjects! Was employed as an Marine Science instructor in the Florida Keys. As long as I have time to go over the desired curriculum, I will be able to relay that information in a palitable learnable format for students.

I prefer to keep students excited about what they are supposed to be learning. Naturally I have devoted my career to learning the facts and concepts that I am supposed to relay, so I will be excited, and I want them to be excited. Enthusiasm can go as far as the facts you are teaching. People that are engaging get their point across, and thats how I approach teaching.
Since graduating from college I have been learning more and more about the natural world around us. A Little Bit About Me...

I own my own science consulting firm and like to dedicate a certain percentage of my time to education and public outreach projects including teaching, mentoring, and tutoring. I have taught high school and college students on and off since 1986 and have had several students go on to VERY successful careers, perhaps one of the best ways to evaluate ones ability as a teacher. My most recent success (2006-07) was a 7th grade C and B student who had straight A's after only two months of working together and finished 7th grade with straight A's. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teach with all different age levels. Most recently, I taught 4th grade science through the FSU Teach Program. It was fun and really showed me how to teach students and make the lessons engaging and fun. Its important to keep the child focused. My goal is to make sure a student learns something new everyday that she/he will remember.

While an undergraduate at Colorado State, I taught various levels of chemistry laboratories for 4 semesters, which included both teaching credits and paid work. I spent one year as a graduate student at the University of Michigan in which I taught general chemistry recitation and a laboratory section. I also was involved in a class that was designed to educate future professors on the field. I spent one semester tutoring various math levels at the Community College of Denver. I believe that I have learned proper use of the English language through authoring a journal article and writing my master's thesis.
