I am a very hands on type person and encourage students to use manipulatives, pictures, or various other visual aids that may help them further understand the concepts that are being mastered. I feel all children have the capacity to learn but it is up to us as educators to find how to help that child learn. No child is the same therefore all teaching methods cannot be the same, only similar. My teaching style really depends on the person I am working with. People learn different ways. It is important to identify what works best for the person. For example, some people may learn through discussion, while others may need to see pictures or presentations of the subject matter. I like to identify how the person learns first through questions, or by testing them with a simple task first to identify the method which seems to work best for them. Once this has been identified, training can begin.
I have both a bachelors degree and masters degree in business administration/management. Both of these degrees have given me a high level of knowledge in many areas such as finance, accounting, math in general, writing, and presentations/projects.
