A Little Bit About Me...

Most of my work experience was gain as a teacher’s aide.I work in a self contained classroom.I worked with students in small groups or individually.I would grade and enter grades for the teacher.I took students to Physical Education by myself.I organize and prepare the learning material for the week.I taught science and computer skills portion of the classroom.Each student gave a short PowerPoint on what they where learning in science during Parent Conference.First quarter of the year I was an Assistant Soccer Coach and the rest of the year in the After School Program working with elementary students as a tutor.On occasional I tutored high school students during my personal lunch period.

A Little Bit About Me...

Although I have little teaching experience, I love working with all ages of people. I'm sure I would have a different approach to teaching/tutoring because I have not had any education classes or experience. I would offer a more business/economical outlook on mathmatical skills. I really like to explain and learn how these skills will apply do out daily lives and to our lives in the future.
I began to work at Regions Bank in New Albany the Summer after my Senior year of high school. While still working for the bank, I attended Ole Miss for a year, then transfered to Northeast for the next year. Attaining two degrees has opened my eyes to many different teaching styles and ways of learning. I believe that the most effective way to learn and teach is to explain concepts and theories thoroughly before any application of these concepts. I believe that in order to really learn a subject, and not just memorize it, the theory must be understood. I also have an MBA (1975), and my working career of 40 years has included 25 years in developing Accounting Systems (multiple firms), Telephone Network Systems (Consultant and Senior Systems Engineer at AT&T for 15 years), and Accounting Operations (most recently Controller for a service firm with annual revenues of $15 Million.
