I have been tutoring as a volunteer and as a job for a combined 7 years now. I have worked in both one on one tutoring with a dyslexic student, tutoring in specialized topics, and group peer tutoring. My longest individual tutoring experience has been with Aidan, who is dyslexic and I have been working with for 4 years. We focus on taking the larger, more daunting tasks and breaking them into smaller sections. Because of his unique learning style, I have learned many creative ways to present the information at hand. A Little Bit About Me...

My goal as a math tutor is to enhance my students’ understanding of mathematics. Often, classroom instruction alone is insufficient when it comes to learning complex subject matter. Some students might benefit from added practice, while others might need extra theoretical explanation. I aim to identify each student’s individual learning style and goals in order to develop a tutoring program to best serve them. My strongest skills as a tutor are patience, communication and a thorough understanding of subject material.
