I recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin River Falls with a BS in Marketing Communications. My minor area of study while at River Falls was Psychology, and over the course of my college career, my interest in the topic has developed into a career goal. I don't have a style. I try to go with the flow. What that means is I assess what the students know, what they don't know, and what they need to know and adjust what I teach and how I teach it accordingly. I can go over/review information as many times as students need it. It is important to go back to the old information that was learned and review it, so students keep adding to what they know as they learn new information. If the students know the old information, then I don't review it as much or as long as I would if they were having problems with remembering the old information that was taught. I try to give each student what they need, based on their deficiencies and their questions.

I believe in meeting each child at his/her current skill level and building confidence and concepts from there. Each student has his/her own strengths and weaknesses, and learns at his/her own pace. Rather than expecting all students to understand a concept using one teaching style, I teach a lesson using multiple modalities followed by step-by-step tasks which reward successive approximations to a concept.
