I enjoy watching children learn and grow. I believe there are different teaching techniques for each individual student. I have come to learn this because of my younger sibling who didn't fit into the mold of a typical public school student. I am a firm believer in trying new things and new approaches.
As a Bowling Green State University student who has studied Communication Disorders I have come across many experiences with children. A Little Bit About Me...

I grew up in Texas and attended Abilene Christian University for four years. This also included two summers in Mexico. I lack only one semester completing my BA in Spanish. However, I chose to marry a Canadian and instead of finishing my degree, I moved to Canada. Over the years, I have periodically used my Spanish while travelling to places such as Honduras and Panama. Last year, I was offered a position as an in-class tutor/translator in our local school system for three Spanish-speaking children. Recently, I was asked to translate a business meeting for a well-known insurance company.
I enjoy working with children of all ages. I have a son with a learning disability whom I am now home-schooling. I realize that patience is key when teaching. I like to teach by example and give the student the opportunity to learn by doing. I do not do the work for the student, but instead allow him or her to do the work with my support until he or she is capable of doing the work independently. I am patient and thorough with my work.
