My comments on tutoring Political Science : One of the few classes I wish I could retake in college.

I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students in math and science twice a week for two years. After college, I moved into the marine science profession. In August of 2008, I started teaching High School Biology I, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science to students in Polk County. In addition, after school hours were spent with two students taking AP Biology classes. Both students achieved a 4 or higher on their placement exams. Learning Can be Fun!

I have tutored children in group and individual piano lessons. I have tutored them in math and social studies. I have spent over 20 years in business in the accounting field and prepared countless financial statements and income tax returns. I am skilled in all things mathematical. I also speak Spanish through over 9 years of instruction.
I like to allow the student to read the material once and clarity any areas that need more explanation. 15 years experience in a broad variety of subjects!

I have a way of perceiving the difficulty the student has, and am able to explain the material in a simple way that makes it easy for students to grasp. I have a good rapport with my student and have had several that have told me that I am the best teacher they have ever had(which didn't hurt my ego!!) A Little Bit About Me...

As an undergraduate I attended Elon University in North Carolina. During my tenure there I tutored at the local elementary school as well as with the Boys and Girls Club. Writing has been a very important part of my life since I was little. My father is an author with over 20 young adult books published and he instilled in me the passion to read and write from a young age. I still edit his books to this day.
The reason I am involved in education is because I love the process of learning. Being a tutor is more than just telling someone what to do or how to do it; you must be friendly and you must let the person know that you care about their success. Seeing the expression on a students face when they "get it" is priceless. While earning my degree in physics at the University of Central Florida I found that tutoring was an excellent experience for both my students and me.
