When a question is asked, I am not going to simply just tell the student the answer. I would want them to think it out and try and figure it out for themselves. I would however guide them in the right direction and even ask them other questions they may know in order for them to figure out the intial problem. I feel that these types of interactions are a more effective way of learning. Also, writing things down helps tremedously because not only are you thinking it, but you're seeing it and reading it as well. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping students understand mathematics. Math can be challenging, but when it is finally understood it can be extremely rewarding. I firmly believe that the key to mastering math is by repetition of examples rather than by studying complex theories. I love tutoring, as it helps me keep up-to-date with the material, and I enjoy seeing someone finally grasp a concept they had struggled with previously.
