Experience Summary
I have tutored fellow students while I was in college in mathematics, chemistry and physics. I have a love and great appreciation of mathematics and all that is involved with it. I have tutored high school students in math, I have tutored college graduates for the math portion of the GRE, and have also tutored non-traditional students in mathematics. I have earned my degree from Ohio University. My degree has opened my eyes to the beauty of mathematics. I would love the opportunity to share that with those students who are not so fond of mathematics.
Teaching Style
Teaching and helping others is a passion of mine. I love the feeling I get when I realize I have helped somebody solve a problem. It makes them feel accomplished, and myself as well. When I tutor, I let the student come to me with the problem, and instead of doing it for them, I will break it down into smaller steps they can do. I will use similar examples from a book or problems I make up to show them the basics of the problem. I want to provide students with a good, strong mathematical foundation. If their foundation is strong, then it will take a lot more to shake them. I want the students to solve the problem themselves with my assistance.
