I love working with children and students of all ages. I was a volunteer at Shriners Childrens Hospital for many years in the recreational therapy department. I recently graduated from Texas A&M University earning a BS in biology with a 3.75 GPA. I have taken course work in many disciplines of biology as well as chemistry, biochemistry, physics, algebra, statistics, and English. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, I spent 8 months working at a wilderness therapy program. At this school I taught students life skills in a wilderness setting. After leaving this school, I spent the summer teaching art at a small summer camp. This past year I worked at a boarding school, located in Western North Carolina. At this school I worked with 15 and 16 year olds, tutoring and helping them with their school work and teaching week-end and extracurricular activities. This past fall I worked at a non-profit organization. I worked at an Anne Frank/Holocaust exhibit giving tours to 6th-12th grade students. I also worked for two other programs where I went into elementary and middle schools and taught students diversity and tolerance through the venue of religious and cultural differences.
