Whenever I can, I like to be very hands-on in my teaching my students. For example, once I was teaching my class about trees. I had them go outside and collect samples of bark which had fallen on the ground. Then we created a gigantic mural in my classroom and glued the pieces of bark to a tree we had drawn.
I have been a self-employed Tutor since April, 2006. Special needs and home schooled students are welcomed. A Little Bit About Me...

In the years in which I was a classroom teacher I learned more than I had ever picked up from my time in college. I was the inclusion teacher at both grade levels I taught, which meant that the students with exceptionalities were mainstreamed in my my class. As such,I learned to adapt my classroom environment, my teaching syle and my language to accommodate each student's needs, even as I tried to adapt the class to the needs of the regular education students. Wroking with that population broadened my understanding of what it really means to work with students in need.
