A Little Bit About Me...

I entered DeVry University in Summer of 2007 as an Accounting/Business Major looking to aquire my Associates of Applied Science in Accounting. I took a variety of general education classes such as business, math, english, and science. I attended the school for a few months earning credits before having to take a break to go home and be with my father who was suffering from a serious illness. I did extremely well in the areas of math and english which required extensive hours spent on research and studying. I have been privately tutoring children over the past three years.
I took a few classes on teaching at a small community college while I was still in high school. As a healthcare consultant with an associate degree in Management and bachelor degree in Business Administration, I spent much of my time writing, presenting, and educating. My mathematical, grammatical, presentation and writing skills were honed. I taught all levels of hospital personnel how to improve operations and use their new computer systems in both classroom and private sessions. I did some private tutoring last summer. I am an approved substitute teacher for the Indian River School District.
Many students have difficulty in a classroom setting because the teacher teaches one way, while not all students learn the same way. After graduating from college, I worked in a Top Secret position in Washington, D.C. I left that position to pursue teaching, and earned a Masters from Boston University. I taught high school classes for several years, and also worked in IT as a trainer and troubleshooter. I was asked to direct a community college basic skills program, and did so for 7 years, rising to a Dean's level. I have more recently taught and consulted for a private primary school. I have recently moved to Delaware after a long time out West.
