After obtaining my teaching credential in English, I taught high school English for three years (grades 9 & 10) and drama for one. Then I taught special ed English for two years. I also taught one year of Language Arts (grade 8). I established a peer tutoring and stud habits program at Branham High School for ninth graders who were struggling to pass their classes. At A Place for Teens center in Los Gatos, I ran a peer tutoring program for students who had no other place to do their homework.
I am passionate about inspiring students to enjoy reading and writing. It is my goal to find a balance between what they are interested in (ie: their career goals)and what they will be interested in (ie: other cultures). As a graduate, I've been very blessed to have received a degree in Business Communication. In college I learned how to become a better educator, and communicate with them on the highest level. Although, I tutor in all of the academic areas, I also enjoy helping my student appreciate the art of becoming a good writer, and thinkers. My students are also encouraged to read for relaxation, and entertainment. Making the education process fun is also an asset. A Little Bit About Me...

I homeschool my children in math, art and science. They ask question about a subject and I give them answers to their questions. If I do not know the answer, I then teach them how to look up the answer or work it out from fundamental assumptions. By having them approach me their interest level is peaked and them retain the information. I learned in graduate school how to learn which I then pass along to my students.
I taught advance instrument design at Stanford University using laser detection technology. The two semsters involved handles on generation of working prototypes. During my time as an graduate student, I tutored undergraduate classes in organic and math while I was a Teachers Assistant for the General Chemistry classes. I ran and graded three lab classes as part of my duties.
