My teaching style with students of all ages is to facilitate their learning as opposed to simply feeding them what I feel is the best response. Students learning is maximized when they can take ownership of and pride in their work. I am very patient. Recognizing that all students learn differently, I seek to ascertain their learning styles and then adjust my tutoring style to that learning style.
I taught and tutored ESL two years before entering law school. I hae taught college classes as an adjunct and later FT professor at Penn College for 25 years. I currently serve as Career Outreach Coordinator for HACC-Lebanon Campus. I have tutored many students, particularly in areas such as writing essays. I have an Associate Degree in Specialized Technology, other wise known as Digital Arts. I made Wedding videos, Websites, and I work as a Graphic Artist at CBS 21. I enjoy helping people anyway I can! However, as a student at Susquehanna University, I also volunteered at least 2 days a week at a local preschool where I helped teach the students. In addition, I worked at a local elementary after-school program 2 days a week. I am currently pursuing my teaching certification through Drexel University.
While I enjoy business, working with children is my passion, hence why I am pursuing my teaching certification. I believe the best way to teach students any skill is to let them have hands on experience with it. While a student at Luzerne County Community College, I was recommended to be a tutor by mathematics professor David Wasilewski. I tutored college students primarily in the fundamentals of algebra and English composition. In 2005, I was awarded the Student Support Service Award for tutoring. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from King's College and went on to earn a Juris Doctor.
