I believe that every student has the privilege and desire to reach his/her learning potential and that there are many different techniques and strategies to help them reach that potential. I believe that a hands-on approach to learning is best - in all subject areas. I have a great deal of experience working with students of various ages and learning styles. I graduated from the University of Iowa in 1989. My degree is in Elementary Education with an emphasis in reading. As an Early Childhood Education major, I have had over 300 practicum hours of experience in different classroom settings ranging from preschool aged children to third grade. I have also had two months experience of student teaching in a kindergarten and preschool age classroom. I have had many experiences working with children in both daycare's, school settings and volunteer programs. A Little Bit About Me...

In addition to tutoring children and helping those I babysat with homework, I also taught horseback riding lessons to young children for three years. I have a very laid back and encouraging style of teaching and am patient in my endeavors. My hope is to give my students the confidence to try and succeed beyond their own expectations.
I recently obtained my BS in Marketing along with a minor in Animal Science from Iowa State University.
