I recently completed student teaching requirements for Kansas and will have my degree conveyed shortly. I chose to be a teacher as my second career. I have always wanted to teach and love working with children. I spent 18 years working for full time for the Kansas National guard. I became a California Reading and Learning Certified tutor and supplemental instructor in 2008 with a program called the Center for Academic Success at the small liberal arts college I was attending and recieved students asking for help in classes including english, college writing seminars, chemistry, and math. A Little Bit About Me...

There are several different styles of teaching. I experienced hands on teaching through the lab courses that I taught. These experiences showed me how important hands on learning is to understanding difficult and complicated concepts. By seeing the information you are learning in a different way, you now have one more method of remembering that material. I believe that students learn best when they not only hear the information that they need to know but also know how to use and apply that information.
