In undergrad, I was somewhat of a perfectionist looking for a way to help others. I found that being a tutor and a supplemental instructor allowed me to help others in ways I could never imagine. I became a California Reading and Learning Certified tutor and supplemental instructor in 2008 with a program called the Center for Academic Success at the small liberal arts college I was attending and recieved students asking for help in classes including english, college writing seminars, chemistry, and math. As a result of my help, the students' grades raised from F's to A's, B's and C's over time. I loved helping them and they appreciated me helping them. I love working with children and believe every child can not only learn, but enjoy learning. I like making learning fun. Some obstacles in learning are based on one's feelings about learning or about a particular subject. Sometimes asking the right questions can unblock the obstacle, leading to a better awareness of one’s abilities and knowledge. I graduated magna cum laude in art, and excelled in all of my classes. At university you write papers in almost all your classes, not just English, and in every class my professors commented on my writing skills. I have often proof read friends and colleagues papers and other writings. Also, I received 100% in my college algebra class and statistics. My teaching style is conducive to learning. In any area I am able to translate my knowledge or find creative ways to express the concepts so another individual may understand.
