I had a great opportunities to help and assist students when i attended high school and college. It gave me a sense of achievement knowing i was helping someone else to achieve thier goals, and bring them to understand things in an easier way. The subjects i tutored were mostly math, science and english. I aso assited a lot of graduate stidents as a lab assitant doing research.I have been tutoring now for at least 9 years. I enjoy tutoring and mentoring students. It is very rewarding to be able to help a student understand concepts that at first may seem complex. I do not believe negative criticism can help a child learn; I like to encourage students. I believe it is best to break complex subject matter into parts and master smaller concepts in order to better understand the full picture. I have earned two BS degrees, one in Chemistry and one in Spanish as well as a Masters of Science in Forensic Science. In addition, I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers and laboratory reports, along with essays in many areas. I attended MTSU and received a bachelor’s degree in Biology. After college I worked at a food-microbiology lab in Nashville for a year. I plan to teach science in Africa with the Peace Corps for two years. I am very capable in most areas of math and science. I am also outgoing and easy to get along with. First I would like to get to know the student and parents, focusing mainly on the student's interests and goals as well as how they feel about the particular subject they will be tutored in. After that I would have the student show me where they currently are in class and what they need help with.
