I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students in math and science twice a week for two years. After college, I moved into the marine science profession. In August of 2008, I started teaching High School Biology I, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science to students in Polk County. I believe that education comes best from experience. If you can see it, touch it and explore it then you are more likely to understand it. Mathematics is a subject which has become taboo. It is too often associated with functions and formulas that have been removed from what is real and planted solely in a textbook. My goal is remove math from a textbook and give students the opportunity to see and experience math in the world around them.
