I have taught 15 years in the Missouri public school system. I have taught fine arts, K-12, throughout my career. I have organized and taught an at-risk study hall, provided after school tutoring for 6th graders. I taught 6th grade mathmatics. and tutored reading after school. Teaching riding and horsemanship is what sparked my desire to teach. Before I became a teacher I worked with mentally challanged adults and was a job coach for individuals that had sustanined tramatic head injuries. I have 22 graduate hour in special education and have worked with special student in school and an institutional settings. I love to help student learn how to learn. My teaching style consists of involving the students as much as possible in the learning process because I am a firm believer that students do learn from one another - especially when one student becomes a mentor or reciprocal teacher for another.
