I have my Nebraska Initial Teaching Certificate for 7-12 Language Arts. Within my Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Sciences, I earned my K-12 provisional English as a Second Language endorsement as well as my 7-12 Language Arts endorsement. Starting my college career as an elementary education major and ending it a secondary education major, I have had education related to and experience with teaching students grades 1-12. I currently work with Youth for Christ // Campus Life and I am a certified substitute teacher with Lincoln Public Schools. Subbing now for two years within LPS has given me invaluable experience. I try to employ "active learning" with call and response lecturing. I also encourage students to identify how they learn, by noting their own strengths such as linear or circular thinking. I also help them identify how they learn the best and encourage research, research, research as well as using games and multiple approaches to difficult concepts. I've been a college adviser and lecturer for the since August of 2003, so I'm patient, caring, concerned, but able to impart discipline and organization skills.
