A Little Bit About Me...

I earned my BA in German with a minor in music. My interest in the German language began as a child when my mother took a military assignment to Germany. In addition to the three years I lived there with my family, I completed a study abroad session during college and returned two years later as a Fulbright grantee to teach English in a German school. In total I spent six years in Germany and am quite fluent in the language. As for music, I have taught private violin lessons to elementary- and middle-school students. Music has always been a vital part of my life and I really enjoy teaching lessons.

I have been teaching in special education institutions for the past 13 years, working with children having physical, mental, emotional, and/or learning disabilities. My degree in music has provided me work in other areas of performing arts including dance, acting, and singing. A Little Bit About Me...

My career as a professional violinist has offered me many unique opportunities and experiences over the years. I find that teaching is one of the experiences I enjoy the most. I have been teaching violin lessons to children and adults for over 19 years, and continue to do so today. I began my career in Paris, France, where I lived for five years, and have maintained my fluent French language skills. I have a very strong background in creative writing in the English language as well; before beginning my career as a violinist, I won some minor writing awards and had the opportunity to work as an editor and proof-reader. As a young musician, I began playing violin at the age of 9 and at the age of 14, I began learning piano. By age 15 I toured Austria and Germany with my high school orchestra and by age 16 I had composed my first symphony entitled Seven Emotions. At age 17, I performed at Carnegie Hall and went on to tour in Italy, again on invitational with my high school orchestra. In addition to this, I have a 1.5 years experience as a private music instructor as well as a BS in Music Business and Recording Arts.
