I have always loved teaching and working with students. My mother is a teacher of almost 30 years, so I have the importance of education ingrained in me. I do believe that every student can learn, some are just a little harder to reach than others. I am trained in a variety of teaching techniques and pride myself on being able to work through the strategies with students to find one that will work. I do believe that there must be a mutual level of respect between teacher and student and so I do work hard to learn about my students' backgrounds and interests to help with my lessons. I enjoy working with, and teaching, kids, especially in Math. I teach with creative tactics, when necessary, to drive home a concept. I am patient with kids (hey, I have 3 of my own!), and find it rewarding when I can make a difference. Students have described me as a very caring and kind educator. I take the time to explain how and why things are different in foreign languages. In the beginning of the year (or when I get a new student), I take the time out to give the student a quiz that helps determine what learning style they are based off of seven different learning styles.
