A Little Bit About Me...

After spending 20 years in school, I have learned how to study for just about anything. My undergraduate experience was weighted equally between the science classes necessary for entry into veterinary school, and my passion for the written word, which I pursued through the Oregon State University Honor's college. Veterinary school reinforced my knowledge in all the life sciences, in addition to honing my study skills.
As a tutor, my goal will be to improve understanding of and appreciation for the subject matter, in addition to providing tools for effective self-study. My love of reading and writing has led me to excel in 2 languages. An English major at Carleton College, I mastered the art of putting thoughts on paper to persuade, compare, or explicate; as well as how to read for meaning. Later at the Sorbonne in Paris, I transferred these talents to French. I have since taught and tutored reading, writing, and speaking in both languages in the U.S. and abroad.
