A Little Bit About Me...

During my senior year in high school, I tutored and mentored at a program named AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination). This program is designed to prepare students for college. My job was to help students with any subject they were having trouble with. Math was the most common subject that students needed help with the most. In high school I took geometry, algebra, and math analysis. Statistics is my highest level of college math. I believe that with my experience and knowledge in math I can be a successful math tutor.
I sit with students and ask them what they are having trouble with. I will then explain to them and make it as clear as possible so they can understand better the subject they are having trouble with. I began teaching and coaching swimming in 1980. In 1984, I extended my teaching experience by volunteering for the Eagle Mount program as a downhill ski instructor for students with several disabilities. At this time I decided to pursue a degree in education, which I completed in 1985.
