Try and create a connection between student and topic. Utilize various readings and real world examples to create connection. Not enough for students to memorize topic, want them to show proficiency and ability to use skills in application.

I decided to earn my BA in French since languages seemed like second nature to me. Additionally, I had to take Italian and I taught myself to read Greek. My tutoring started in high school when I successfully raised a students grade of F to an A in French. I also received an ESL Certification from London and used that here in St. Louis to teach ESL where I was employed at ELS. One of my students hired me privately as well and still consults with me.
