Don't tell me 2+2=4. Tell me WHY 2+2=4.

Although I wish I could count the endless amount of time I spent playing teacher as a child, I know parents are looking for more expierence than an eight year old and her dolls. I have tutored children, ages ranging from eight to fourteen, off and on for three years. Teaching Style : Teaching style has to adjust to student. I know the subject, I must know how the student learns and adapt my teaching to that.

I have come to find that the very simplest of assumptions can mislead students. I like to start each problem with a new set of assumptions, or a "given", "find", and "solution" step-by-step process.
