Recently got out of the Marine Corps where five years were spent in the intelligence field. Upon completion of my military duties, I attended a coding school where I graduated at the top of my class and was asked to join the teaching staff. I am currently working as a software developer in DC. I have a passion for helping people of all ages understand computers and programming. It has always been a passion of mine to work with and educate young children and youth. I began tutoring at a Elementary School for a few hours when I was in high school as well as assisted other children with math and reading on an as needed basis. When I was away at undergrad school, I was able to work with local Elementary children, but it was not on a consistent basis. Once I graduated from Undergrad, I returned home and began tutoring with my church and volunteered to work with the Sr. Youth Ministry as well. I enjoy teaching adults and young adults who may be in high school or college. You can always find a way to relate the material to the student, and that is the key for them not just to understand it but care about it and have motivation. Such distracted or unprivileged students just need someone to sit down with them and break the teachings down for them. I always enjoyed teaching mathematics topics such as Calculus to students. That subject in particular is needed for many applied fields in which several (engineering, physics, actuarial science) I have both working and educational experience in. I tutored for three years in various mathematics subjects at Penn State.

I believe one can achieve anything if they are willing to work hard. I have an easy going personality with a strong focus in aiding in any way the learning of a new subject matter to a student.
