Chemical Engineering is one of my top subjects!

I find out what exactly the student is lacking in the subject by asking a few basic questions on the topic and make a judgement of the student's understanding on the topic and then proceed forward. I normally explain the concepts in diagrams so that it makes it easier for the student to visualize the problem and give the student plenty of practice problems for him/her to work on to make their understanding better
I have taught over 20 students during my undergraduate and graduate study. Most of the students that I have taught are engineering students who need help with the basic understanding of concepts and visualizing problems. The subjects that I normally teach are Chemical Engineering subjects, Engineering Physics, Chemistry and Basic Math classes. I was a technical instructor for an oil/gas company for just over 5 years. We focused on competency based training along with ensuring skills would transfer into the workplace. Prior to that, I graduated from a highly technical private engineering school with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. The school was on a trimester schedule so that we could finish a normal 5 year degree in only 4 years so it was a highly demanding program. When I was in high school, I volunteered to tutor students in math and science during my study hall hour. I was also in AP math, science and english classes. I tested out of Calculus I in college by scoring a perfect score on the AP math test out of high school.

I believe that if I can understand something, then everyone else can. I help students by convincing them that they can understand to build up confidence. Students and I work at what needs to be memorized such as formulas and basic concepts, learning to apply and work with these basics step by step, and at the same time, as I watch, strengthening weak areas. Some years ago a friend told me that volunteer help was really needed for the adult GED program in our local area. I decided to give up time for two hours a week. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been studying in the scientific field for over 7 years at the college level and obtained pre-pharmacy status from a community college as well as an Associates of Applied Science Degree from the same community college majoring in Chemical Processing Technology. Also I have obtained a Bachelors of Science Degree in Chemistry from an accredited University. I have taken math courses up to and including differential equations (sometimes called Calculus 4) as well as many organic, inorganic and analytical chemistry courses with the labs for each of these subjects.
