I have extensive experience tutoring and mentoring students in creative writing and composition arenas. As lead teaching assistant for entry-level undergraduate Creative Writing courses at Oberlin College, I facilitated small group workshops, provided students with feedback on their writing, and wrote lesson plans designed to help each individual improve technically as a writer. I met weekly with individual students to provide stream-lined, individualized feedback. Last summer I worked in Harare, Zimbabwe as a teacher of Creative Writing. I enjoy teaching and believe that all students can learn. There are many ways to interest them; and with technology, all students will research and work with language and culture. I have had great success with students on a one-to-one basis. In language learning, some students have needed out-of-class time to work privately with me.
