I really enjoy teaching and watching students progress in their language studies. I understand it is sometimes difficult to learn a foreign language since I have undergone the process myself several times over. Therefore I am able to relate to my students and provide encouragement. I believe it is reassuring for them to know that once I was in the same place they are. I am patient and friendly, and I find this to be helpful in eliciting student engagement, especially when they feel shy about making mistakes. Thanks to the wonderful teachers I have studied under I have been inspired to help others step outside their comfort zone and learn about other cultures and languages. I am a double major from Kenyon College with a B.A. in Modern Languages (Russian & German) and International Studies. Having worked in supplemental education for quite some time, I have learned to hone in on the unique understanding of each individual student's needs. I enyoy working with adults as well as children, diagnosing the fundamental needs and moving forward at each individual student's pace.
