I have had experience tutoring undergraduate level students with various levels of mathematics and accounting courses while at college from 2002-2006. I also have over 3 years of experience mentoring professional staffs on accounting job functions.
I believe I can be a good teacher as I have the necessary background and the experience. The fact that I like sharing knowledge would only add to my interest in a teaching opportunity. If I have a choice, I would prefer one-on-one type tutoring classes to group courses. My style of teaching is pretty basic. My teaching style is a mixture of direct instruction and discovery based learning whose components depend on the student(s) at hand. I've been known to make generalized lesson plans and improvise as I go, because every class is different, and too strict of a plan is destructive and boring for the students. Students typically need things explained to them in many different ways to garner a solid understanding of any topic, but especially upper level math and physics.
