I have worked quite a lot with elementary school children, whether it be in or outside of work. I have done independent tutor work, mainly in the fields of Art and Language Arts. In the past I had a long-term job in which I was required to interact with young children, and I did so willingly. For two years in a row, I taught a Beginner's Guitar course for children and the feedback I received was overwhelmingly positive. I worked at the Boys and Girls Club at the local middle school for my entire four years of college. Monday through Friday, I tutored elementary and middle school students in math, english, and health.

I teach using different styles, based on what the student needs. I feel I work best with students who become easily frustrated and need assistance when faced with new challenges. I am a firm believer that education is your key to success in the future and try to instill this belief in all my students.
I have several years experience working in the public school system but currently work in the juvenile justice system teaching adjudicated youth English Langauge Arts. I earned my BA in History and English from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2005. I completed my teaching certification requirements the same year and hold a Michigan Teacher's Certification in both ENG and HIST at the secondary level. While attending classes, I worked with kids at all age levels and have tutored 1st graders to seniors in high school.
