World History is one of my top subjects! I have an MA in history and am most knowledgeable about European social and art history of the 18th century to the mid 20th century.

I received my MA in the History of Art from the University of Georgia in August of 2010 and specialize in modern and contemporary art. I believe that an appreciation of art and its history is best cultivated by examining the major themes and tropes of past art and design and structurally linking it to the social history and art of later periods and when possible to local art. I have a broad education in all periods of art, but I'm most proficient with art from the mid 18th-21st centuries. My comments on tutoring World History : Highly qualified k-8

Constructivist, multi-sensory, inquiry-based.
For 20 years I worked for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, as a fifth through 7th Grade classroom teacher. I taught all of the academic subjects in various combinations, sometimes all at once to a self-contained class. The State of Tennessee recognized me as "Highly Qualified" in all subjects, from Kindergarten through 8th Grade. I served on the district's math council for 5 years, helped direct the district's science fair one year, and worked extensively in the field of arts-based curriculum development. I also was trained in the IB curriculum, and implemented it for 10 years.

A Little Bit About Me...

Based on previous experience I have discovered that the same teaching style does not work for every child. I find that explaining each topic and asking the child question gives a clear indication of their understanding. Based on responses to the questions adjustments may be made to address each child's need.
As the daughter of educators, I have been exposed to the education system all my life. As a result of this exposure, I became very interested in tutoring and teaching. I taught for two years as a substitute teacher before attending law school. I previously worked as a substitute teacher with Morrow Elementary in North Lauderdale, Florida where I taught test-taking strategies for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test. Most recently, I have volunteered with Youth Encouragement services as a tutor.
