My teaching style is to captivate the student's interest with hands on activities that demonstrate academic concepts. After the student understands the concrete real life connection, then we move into the abstract representation of the same concept in print. My course was "History 110: The American Experience." I had 52 students and we met Monday through Friday. My approach is to incorporate multiple learning styles (visual, auditory and so on). I also like to incorporate skills training as part of a scenario when possible. Using techniques like appropriate background music, brief stretch breaks, having the children read to Sierra, my golden retriever, are all techniques that I would like to use.
