I love working with children, and feel that I can relate to them because I struggled in my early school years. I feel it's important to identify each child's learning style, and use that knowledge to help them discover the potential that they each hold. I feel it's extremely important to help them build their confidence, because anxiety only distracts them from the learning process. Finally, I try to make learning fun, by identifying each child's main intersts. During my years at The Ohio State University, I earned a B.A. in Psychology, and completed a year and a half of Masters work in Social Work. After completing my B.A., I was hired as a professional tutor. In the year of 2004, I began substitute teaching for public schools such as North Fork, Licking Valley, Heath and Granville. In the year of 2008, I began going to the country of India to teach English to students who were nationals as well as from the countries of Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar. Some of these students were already fluent while others could not speak any English. Within three months, they were able to read, write and speak English. I also had the opportunity to teach in a public school while I was there. In each classroom there were anywhere from eighty to one hundred children. I taught them the English alphabet, reading, writing as well as basic understanding and dialogue.
