A Little Bit About Me...

I am a high school student living in Madison AL, 35758. I am sixteen (16) years old I have passed Algebra 2 w/Trig and any lower math i will be able to teach. I am skilled in teaching C and C++ programming having taken multiple classes passing with an A average. I am also a JROTC student and have taken the ASVAB, scoring an 85. I can help with all section except engineering and science. I have taught my younger brother and his friends along with other high school students. I am good with kids and approach each student with a mind set to teach in a manner that will help them understand.

As a Teach for America corps member, I taught both high school and middle school math in the urban corps to students who were, on average, three years behind. I have always wanted to be a teacher. I began tutoring while I was still in high school. I earned my BS in Elementary Education in 1980. I have tutored students of all ages in different subjects. Most of my tutoring experience has been in math and reading. I have tutored students for all sections of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam. I have been a homebound and home-school teacher, as well as a classroom teacher.
I love to help children learn! It is so rewarding to see the reaction of a child who suddenly understands what he has been trying to learn. I try to help my students build confidence in themselves by helping them realize that they do have the ability to learn. I want every child to know he is loved and special.

As a special education teacher, I am highly motivated to see all students succeed both inside and outside of the classroom setting. I have earned a bachelor degree in Political Science with a minor in History and a master's degree in both Elementary and Special Education.
