As a special education teacher, I am highly motivated to see all students succeed both inside and outside of the classroom setting. I have earned a bachelor degree in Political Science with a minor in History and a master's degree in both Elementary and Special Education. I graduated Athens State University in 2005 with a BS in Elementary Education (K-6). After graduation, I became a substitute teacher for six months. In 2006 I was hired on by Decatur City Schools. I have taught kindergarten, first grade, and second grade for Decatur City Schools. I am currently employed with Decatur City Schools as an aide. I have also tutored children at The Dyslexia Clinic in Decatur. I have worked with children ranging in ages 4 years old to 18 years of age.
All children can learn, but it is my job, as a teacher, to figure out which learning style suits each particular child.
