I hold a BA in English from Saint Olaf College and studied a variety of subjects during my time in the Liberal Arts program. I have worked with many college graduates helping them prepare for the GRE in both the English and Math sections, as well as assisting high school students in preparing for their SATs and ACTs. I have also worked with younger students helping them learn beginner level French as I studied French, English and math through college. The students I enjoy working with most are teenagers. They are in a truly dynamic phase of growth, in that their intellects are blossoming in ways that are entirely new to them, while their emotions and bodies go through great and often difficult translformations. The power of these changes, along with their curiosity and insight, can be harnessed to create very exciting learning experiences. A Little Bit About Me...

While at Humboldt State, I completed the College Faculty Preparation Program. This program significantly improved my teaching pedagogy. With regards to tutoring, I feel that it is extremely important to understand and draw on the student’s learning style. As a kinesthetic learner, I frequently promote tactile learning while also introducing elements of visual, auditory, and/or reading/writing exercises, depending on what works best for the student. I’m patient and considerate but feel that it is important to set high expectations for each of my students.
Education has always been my passion.
