Dancer/Choreographer/Teacher

I have been teaching dance for the past nine years in styles of ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, modern, and tap. I have worked at various studios, camps, elementary school programs, youth companies, high school dance teams, and have taught private lessons to students ages 10-adult in and around the bucks county area. I currently dance professional with a jazz based company called Project Moshen Dance Company in Philadelphia and was a previous Vixen dancer for the Philadelphia Fight Team and a company memeber of CoExist Dance Company. I also choreograph independently with professional dancers and present my work to various venues and showcases.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe teaching others a skill or new information is a gift, to both myself and the student. When the light goes off in their head, and the "I got it!" look comes across their face, I feel a sense of accomplishment. I am very patient, and understand that each student learns at their own speed. Additionally, I know that each student is different, which will sometimes require a new teaching technique. I believe everyone can learn; sometimes it just takes the right teacher for the right student.
I was a teaching assistant for three of my four years at the University of Delaware. I taught courses, as well as tutored students and graded exams. Additionally, I have a great deal of experience in sciences and english, specifically biology and microbiology, as well as excellent grammar skills.

I like to see how much of what they are learning they currently understand and use that to help them put the rest of the pieces together. I learn from them how they learn and do my best to assist them in that way. Repetition and visual aids are usually the way I approach tutoring otherwise. I think helping them see what we are doing and the progress they have made through repeated exercises reinforces what they know and helps them retain better that they do not.
I was introduced to spanish at the age of 4, and after having structured training in a classroom which began in middle school, I have almost 14 years of spanish under my belt.
