My comments on tutoring Elementary Phonics : To develop a level of independent and automatic phonetic ability, I focus my instruction primary on phonics instructions that help beginning and struggling readers understand how letters are linked to sounds (phonemes) to form letter-sound correspondences and spelling patterns and to help them learn how to apply this knowledge in their reading. I am experienced in the Common Core State Standards in English Language Arts(ELA) for 3-8th Grade. I have provided basic reading sill, reading fluency, vocabulary and phonic instruction for struggling readers in grades 3rd-8th.

I have taught in the public school system for thirty-four years. I have taught Special Education students. I have taught on the elementary, middle and high school levels. I have taught the Mississippi State Curriculum and is presently teaching the Common Core State Standards for Math and English Language Arts.

MBA Grad looking for side job

During high school and junior college I worked as an office assistant for a trucking company. Upon completion of my two year degree I worked briefly for an accountant before furthering my education at Mississippi College. While at Mississippi College, I had an internship at another trucking company that lasted almost two years. I completed my MBA online and maintained a 3.9 GPA while working at a temporary position. I earned both my Bachelor's of Arts in English and my Master's of Science in Public Relations from the University of Southern Mississippi. While at USM, I served as the Assistant to the Graduate Reader as a graduate student, where my job was to proof graduate and Ph.D. students' theses and dissertations. This job, in particular, helped me become extremely familiar with APA and MLA formatting, as well as everyday grammar and word usage. I also took a number of education classes while persuing my Bachelor's degree.
I realize that, in order for a student to want to learn, the subject must be presented to them in an interesting way.
