I believe that each student has strengths and weaknesses and it is my job as a teacher to find these and help students expand on the strengths while overcoming the weaknesses.Each student has a unique learning style so I need to teach things in ways that the student can grasp. I especially love helping students who experience difficulty learning and watching a student light up when he/she finally understands a concept. I believe that learning should not just be an accumulation of facts, but teach people to think through real problems and come up with viable solutions to these problems. A Little Bit About Me...

I recently graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Human Development. However, before Human Development was my major, it was English Language. Through my four years at a major university, I have learned how to properly write research essays, what sources are credible for essays, and essay format. I also have had a pet-peeve for words that are incorrecly spelled and when there are grammatical errors in something professionally done.
I believe that children all come with different levels of cognition. Therefore, each child has their own learning pace. I like to give a child the time that he needs in order to accomplish his goal in learning. I have patience and am understanding--this would be a great benefit in working with children who need a little extra help in their studies.

I have worked in the electrical industry for the past seven years, with a two year hiatus to serve as a teaching missionay in Guatemala. I have a passion for learning, such that I earned my BS in Business Management in only three years of study at the Univeristy of Utah. Through my years of schooling, I have gain masterful skills in both English and Math, due to the many papers and courses I have taken in these fields of study. A Little Bit About Me...

I like the tutoring environment because I like seeing individual progress. It is easier to assess where the child is. I believe that the basics are essential to moving forward in education. Memorization of math facts makes it easier for a child to learn new material because he isn't bogged down. I don't believe enough emphasis is placed on arithmetic in today's schools. Basic arithmetic skills make story problems easier. Types of story problems need to be practiced, not just thrown in at the end of a chapter without much information on how to do it. I am patient and punctual. I like being with students.
